Selanne, Ducks sink Sharks

Hockey Betting Lines

02/27/2007 - San Jose, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Teemu Selanne scored the game-winning goal to give the Anaheim Ducks an important 3-2 win in a Pacific Division battle against the San Jose Sharks at HP Pavilion.

Dustin Penner scored twice while Ryan Getzlaf added two assists for the Ducks, who have won their last two games.

Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 40 shots in the win for Anaheim, which is in second place in the Western Conference with 84 points and holds a seven-point lead over San Jose and Dallas for first place in the Pacific Division.

Milan Michalek scored two goals and Joe Thornton had two assists for the Sharks, who have dropped their past two games. Evgeni Nabokov stopped 16 shots in the loss.

With the score tied at 2-2, Anaheim grabbed the advantage when Chris Kunitz snapped a pass from the low right circle to the slot where Selanne tapped in a one-timer for a 3-2 lead with 11:41 to play.

Bryzgalov stood tall in the final frame as he made 18 saves and got some help from the posts to preserve the win.

The Ducks scored twice in the opening period to take a 2-0 lead into the locker room.

Halfway through the first, a slap shot at the right point by Ric Jackman was tipped into the net by Penner for a 1-0 lead.

Penner gave Anaheim a 2-0 lead with 3:17 left in the frame when his backhander from the low slot went between the pads of Nabokov for his 21st goal of the season.

Bryzgalov stopped all 10 shots he faced in the first period.

San Jose, however, scored twice in the second period to tie the game.

On the power play, Thornton won a faceoff and got the puck back to Matthew Carle, who blasted a shot on net that was saved, but Michalek was on the doorstep to bang in the rebound 6:54 in.

Michalek scored his second goal of the game when he snapped in a rebound off of a Thornton shot to tie the contest with 2:49 left in the second.

Nabokov made eight saves in the second period to keep Anaheim off the board.

Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds

Will he or won't he?  Now that the Dallas Cowboys have a new head coach in Wade Phillips, the big question will be: Does Terrell Owens stay with the team.

Jerry Jones continues to suggest that Terrell Owens will remain with the team.

"I've said that he's back, he's here, he's under contract," Jones said. "In the interviews I've just been through (to hire a new coach), it was very clear to me how highly he's thought of and how much of an impact he had on our offensive success."

Just to be sure though, Terrell Owens cleared out his locker and removed his name plate.

Terrell Owens was among the Cowboys most productive players this past season, catching 85 passes for 1,180 yards and a league-best 13 touchdowns.

But T.O. is due a $3 million roster bonus in June, then a $5 million salary this season. Cutting him before then would save a lot of money and headaches.

Aside from the questions surrounding Terrell Owens, the oddsmakers at MySportsbook.com have concerns over starting quarterback Tony Romo's state of mind and whether he will remain a starting quarterback.  It is also not known how players will adjust to new head coach, Wade Phillips.

Here are the football odds as seen at MySportsbook.com and subject to change after February 10, 2007 if not locked in prior to that date.
